World’s First Gadgets
When a gadget appears it seems something revolutionary, something that is impossible to improve. However, after some time new gadgets appear and those that amazed us in the past become usual and ordinary. There are many things you are used to, but some time ago they amazed public and were dreamed of by many people from all over the world.
MP3 Player

The first MP3 player was released in March of 1998. This was MPManF10 that looked like a set of bathroom scales. The invention did not get great popularity, people were slow to take to it. Though the device had 32 MB on board, owners of the gadget could upgrade to 64 MB simply by sending the device back along with a cheque for $80.
Laptop

The first portable computer was Osborne 1 that was released in 1981. The device was quite heavy, it weighted 24.5lb, because it all was housed in its own case. There were 64K of RAM and a 4MHz CPU and 5’’ screen. The revolutionary device cost $1795.
Digital Camera

Believe it or not, the first attempt to invent a digital camera took place in 1975 by Steven Sasson who worked at Kodak. The machine invented by Steven Sasson used CCD image sensor. It took 23 seconds to capture the black and white image and record it to a cassette tape.
Mobile Phone

Motorola DynaTac800X was the world’s
first commercial handled mobile phone that was released in 1983. The phone was fantastically expensive, it cost $3,995. nevertheless thousands of people bought it. The phone measured 13 x 1.75 x 3.5, standby of the phone was 8 hours, it could store 30 numbers.
Games Console

Odyssey by a company by the name of Magnavox was the world’s first game console. The console was released in 1972. The device used a cartridge system. Though it could not produce sounds it was welcomed by public that had never seen anything like that. Soon sales of the gadget dwindled because marketing department of the console’s manufacturer did not capitalise on the machine’s potential.
